Let’s dive into this micro-wedding that took place at the Duportial House and a beautiful church. I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the resilience of my covid couples, more specifically this amazing couple, Larissa and Josh. They booked me spring of 2019 when all was still Gucci and normal. We did their engagement session later that fall at Valley Forge National Park, then a couple of months later, the world shut down. I know we were all thinking surely this would be done and gone by Jan 2021, oh my sweet summer child how naive we were.
When the big day came we started at the Duportail House for the first look and couple portraits. I was low-key impressed with myself for getting a video on my phone while capturing it all on my camera and it was so exciting to surprise them with that little video at the end. We wandered around the Duportail House grounds for about half an hour and got some magical shots with the light really working in our favor, then it was on to the church for the ceremony.
In attendance for this Philly Micro-wedding ceremony was close family and friends excited to witness this union they had watched blossom from day one. The ceremony was filled with so many beautiful religious traditions as these two became one. I loved that the church had a choir loft for me to sneak up into and capture some memories from above. After the ceremony we wandered outside to get photos of the newlyweds fresh in that newlywed feeling.
It was such a privilege to get to capture Larissa & Josh’s special day. With each email, text, and call I saw their resilience and determination to still have their wedding day be their special day despite the pandemic trying to say otherwise. It was an honor to get to walk alongside them as they navigated the trials of getting married during the time of carona.
P.S. They have birthdays today and yesterday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY LARISSA & JOSH. Y’all are amazing 🙂
