Nicolette and Charles are some of the absolute sweetest people I’ve ever gotten the chance to meet. So, it was an absolute honor to photograph their PAFA Wedding. It’s my job to not only capture your wedding day memories but also do what I can to help you feel at ease and cared for throughout the day. But I’ve never had a couple who checked in on me as much as they did. They also spoke so many words of affirmation letting me know how incredibly grateful they were for how at ease I made them feel (and we were only halfway through the day). As a result, my heart was filled up so freaking much.
They started the day getting ready at two different hotels in Center City Philadelphia. Firstly, the bride at The Logan Philadelphia Hotel. Then the groom at Le Méridien before heading off to the amazing Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) wedding venue right off of Broad street. The tricky part was getting the groom to the space we were doing the first look without seeing the bride. Lots of coordination went into that but it was successful!
Furthermore, the ceremony included beautiful hymns, prayers, scriptures, and words of wisdom from the Pastor. Part of me wanted to write down all the gems dropped during the ceremony. Everyone in the room could see the love Charles and Nicolette had for each other. Such as how it echoed in their eyes.
PAFA Wedding
When the ceremony concluded, we sneaked them outside to get some photos on Broad Street. Because it isn’t a Center City Philadelphia wedding without Broad Street photos. The photos we captured with Philadelphia’s city hall as our backdrop were truly breathtaking.
The reception, which also took place at the PAFA wedding venue, featured speeches from the maid of honor, the best man, the father of the bride, and the couple themselves. What was most memorable was finding out that Charles had handwritten notes for each member of the wedding party to thank them for being a part of their day. That really showed what an incredibly kind heart he has.
This wedding day was truly memorable not only because of the gorgeous PAFA wedding venue and Kate who is the showrunner of it all, but also because of the beautiful hearts of my sweet couple, and the amazing wedding planner Tabitha from Love Hause Events. It was a dream team for a dreamy day and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
