I have a confession: these technically aren’t Valley Forge engagement photos. Circumstances prevented us from being able to have their engagement session before the wedding, so we decided to do what Nicolette termed a ‘married shoot’ sometime after their beautiful wedding at PAFA.
That ‘sometime’ ended up being a beautiful fall Sunday evening during golden hour. One of my favorite things about Nicolette and Charles is how easy-going they are and how much they make each other laugh. It only takes the simplest of prompts to get them laughing and just being lovey-dovey.
Valley Forge National Park in the fall is absolutely breathtaking. There is not a corner of this park that isn’t beautiful. This is one of the best fall photo locations right outside the city of Philadelphia. The warmth of the trees combined with the warmth of the sunset just created a magical ethereal environment.
Even though it seemed like not being able to do an engagement session was a inconvenience the Lord still used it for good with us being able to meet up after the wedding and capture them in their newlywed bliss. The perks of couples sessions over an engagement session is that they now have been married for a couple months so they now really have a sense of what its like being connected together in holy matrimony.
It was such an honor and a joy to get these two back in front of my camera for their Valley Forge ‘Engagement’ photos. Its not often that I get to see my couples so soon after their wedding day so this was indeed a special treat. And having shot their wedding already meant they were a lot more comfortable in front of my camera so we were able to just jump right in and have an amazing shoot.
